Kellie Goodman Shaffer, President/CEO of the
Chamber, manages and coordinates all organizational activities and
resources of the Chamber and identifies and meets all appropriate member and county
service needs consistent with the organization's mission. She also serves as the Executive Director of
the 501-c3 Bedford County Chamber (Educational) Foundation.
Kellie is the staff point person for several
Chamber and Foundation committees, including Agri-Business, Government
Affairs, Technology and Personnel, as well as all Chamber event-related committees. She also manages the marketing
resources of the Chamber, including the E-Newsletter, E-Connection
e-mail blasts, radio and television projects, and website.
She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Association of Chamber Professionals and co-chair of the PACP Conference Committee.
Additional responsibilities include serving as the Chamber liaison to a variety of community agencies, boards and organizations, including the Bedford County Visitors Bureau, Downtown Bedford Inc., the Everett Area Better Business Association, Allegany College of Maryland Advisory Board, Bedford County Technical Center Advisory Board, Rotary Clubs of Bedford, Friends of Shawnee State Park, Special Olympics PA, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and others.
Kellie was named to the chief executive post of the Chamber in February of 2010. Prior to that, she served as the Marketing
Director of the Allegheny Mountains Convention & Visitors
Bureau/Game Director of the PSFCA East West All-Star Game and Manager of the Pennsylvania Football Coaches Association. Kellie also
spent nearly 20 years as an award-winning broadcast journalist in the
Johnstown-Altoona-State College television market, most notably serving
as Sports Director for WTAJ-TV from 1998-2008 and host/writer of Emmy-Award Winning Penn State Women's Basketball Coaches Shows. She still writes a weekly sports column for the Altoona Mirror newspaper. She is a graduate of Penn State University, where she captained the Lady Lion softball team.
