The Bedford County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to offer three unique contests as part of the 2015 signature event: Taste of Home Cooking School & Vendor Show – Wednesday, October 13th at the Everett Area High School.
Categories are:
Crock Pot Cook-Off: Adult
Teen Cookie Contest: Ages 13-16
Cooke Decorating Contest: Ages 5-7, 8-10 and 11-12.
Entry fee is $5 per contestant (in addition to event ticket.)
Contest winners will be determined by a celebrity judging panel to include: major sponsors, chefs from local restaurants, dignitaries, media, etc.) Winners will receive certificates and prizes to be determined. All winners will be announced during the Taste of Home Cooking School Show.
Crock Pot Cook-off: Adults may enter this contest by completing entry form prior to October 6th and submitting form to the Chamber office by fax, email or mail along with their $5 entry fee. Contestants will bring their completed dishes in their crock pots to the vendor show no later than 4:30pm on October 13th. Contestants will also bring a copy of their recipe for judges to review. Judges will taste each entry and rank place winners: 1st, 2nd and 3rd. An award certificate and related prize will be given to each place winner. Contestants must remove their crock pots by the close of the show (9:30pm.)
Teen Cookie Contest: Teen ages 13-16 may enter this contest by completing entry form prior to October 6th and submitting form to the Chamber office by fax, email or mail along with their $5 entry fee. Contestants will bring a quantity of least one dozen cookies in a disposable container to the vendor show no later than 4:30pm on October 13th. Contestants will also bring a copy of their recipe for judges to review. Judges will taste each entry and rank place winners: 1st, 2nd and 3rd. An award certificate and related prize will be given to each place winner. Disposable containers will not be returned.
Kids’ Cookie Decorating Contest: Children may enter this contest in one of three age divisions (5-7, 8-10 and 11-12) by completing entry form prior to October 6th and submitting form to the Chamber office by fax, email or mail along with their $5 entry fee. Contestants will arrive at the vendor show no later than 5:15pm on October 13th. Judges will review entries for each age division and rank place winners: 1st, 2nd and 3rd. An award certificate and related prize will be given to each place winner.
